Sakura
Simplicity and respect for natural forms are the basis of my design ethos. As elemental as a cherry blossom, Sakura is an aesthetic distillation of this principle.
Showcasing only the wood grain and live edge of tree, a lovingly shaped body of black cherry (prunus serotina) embraces the players body. The ergonomic shape keeps the neck at the optimum playing position, while the multi scale fretboard follows the natural sweep of the left hand as it passes along the neck. That neck is once again a single perfect piece of incredibly smooth and dense kabo rosewood (dalbergia lanceolaria).
Sakura is also among the first guitars to contain my new in-house designed and built pickups. They’re a stacked humbucker design, with the clarity and grunt of a fat single-coil while remaining hum-cancelling.
A 3d printed bronze/steel bridge effectively couples the strings to the pure and resonant woods of the body, and tuning is accomplished by my own “wrap-lock” headless tuners.
