Headless tuning machines

I have finally made my wrap lock tuning machines available for purchase by other luthiers!
I first created these in 2018, when I was looking for a headless guitar tuning solution that would allow me to use my own separate bridge piece for arch top guitars etc. I also wanted it to be flexible enough for multiscale and extended-range fitments. This meant individual tuners without integrated saddles.
After some experimentation, I developed a design that included a string locking mechanism IN THE TUNER ITSELF! This means that there is no metal headpiece mounting plate required- anything that can hold a string ball-end or loop will suffice.
These are designed for steel strings (plain, round- or flat-wound) in gauges 0.007” to 0.058”. A minimum of 10.4mm side-to-side spacing when mounting is required. Keep in mind, these are tuners only; you will want to pair them with a suitable bridge.
The body, string holder, and knurled nut are made of high-grade aircraft alloy aluminum, black anodized in the case of the body and nut. They utilize a stainless steel M3 lead screw, a stainless steel M4 string locking screw, and a ball thrust bearing for smooth, effortless tuning.
Sold PER TUNER; if you’re making a six-string guitar, order six. I will include a 3mm hex key for string changes with every order. Proudly made here in Ottawa, Canada.
