A big thanks to all the staff at Upper Canada Village, who organized a terrific weekend. I got the chance to talk with dozens of visitors who were fascinated by the process of building guitars. Yes, they don't grow on trees! And yes, in the end it is definitely worth all the work.
I was very impressed by many of the other exhibitors, including Mohawk ash-splint basket maker Carrie Hill, chair maker David Fleming, Peter Bunnett and his amazing live edge furniture, veteran luthier Oscar Graf, the whole Curt Sauer gang, Al Ridgway and his gorgeous watercraft, and violinmaker Olivia Pelling, to name but a few. It felt great to be surrounded by people so committed to their respective crafts. Hopefully we'll get together again next year!
